August Favourites

Hey Everyone,

First of all I have been absolutely loving the amazing weather throughout August. Fingers crossed it doesn’t completely go too soon. Anyway now that one is out of the way let’s kick off the beauty and lifestyle favourites shall we.

Sk:n Restore & Protect Sunscreen SPF 30

I have been searching for an SPF that I can put on my face without it feeling greasy. I was sent the Sk:n Restore & Protect Sunscreen SPF* And I have finally found one that feels more like a moisturiser. It still has that sticky feel immediately after application but give it a few minutes and it’s pretty lightweight. Ideally I would like an SPF 50 but until I find the perfect one this one will do the job.

Mirrored Sunglasses

I mentioned them in my previous spotlight post but I have been loving my sunglasses this month. I won’t bang on about them you can just head over to my previous post and read all about them.

The Empire Girl Planner

As it is coming up to my blogs second birthday I really want to be more dedicated when it comes to posting content. You may have noticed I have slacked a bit lately but sometimes life gets in the way. I bought this so I can be super organised and then my blog won’t suffer because I do love it when I have a lot of fresh content.

I have been getting really bad headaches at work, so my boyfriend suggested a programme that basically puts an orange tint over your screen to stop your eyes from straining. Although this is a very weird favourite to include, it has been absolutely life changing for me. I rarely get headaches at work anymore. Although the orange tint is slightly annoying and if you are doing something in which you require the colours to be clear you can’t use it.

Short and sweet from me. What have you been loving?

Product Spotlight: Mirrored Sunglasses

Hey Everyone,

The weather has been so gorgeous lately so of course my spotlight this month had to focus on something that can only be used on a lovely sunny day; mirrored sunglasses.

mirrored sunglasses

I have been searching for a pair of sunglasses where you can’t see my eyes for over a year now but i’ve never found the right pair until now. These mirrored sunglasses are the perfect way to hide my eyes. This pair is from Missguided and they were about £12. They don’t have my exact pair anymore, they do still have a similar pair.

I have popped some of my favourites below – which ones would you buy?

Until next month…

5 Easy Breakfast Ideas

Hey Everyone,

I always find that I will skip breakfast unless I have planned what I am going to eat or it’s a very easy breakfast. If anyone is exactly the same as me, I have you covered. Here are 5 breakfast ideas that take little to no time to prep and eat. You can be out the door, tummy full, quickly.

Easy Breakfast 1 – Gluten-Free Toast with Peanut Butter & Banana

Easy Breakfast 1 - P B & Banana on Toast

This was my go to snack when I used to work out a lot and needed some extra fuel. It’s super easy to make and literally takes no more than 5 minutes. You can eat it and get out the door before you know it.

Easy Breakfast 2 – Yogurt, Banana & Honey

This one is a bit of a treat to me, it’s not all that healthy but it’s not terrible on the waistline. Another quick one to make and because it’s so yummy it’s a quick one to eat.

Easy Breakfast 3 – Apple Surprise

If you find it hard to eat a big breakfast this is absolutely perfect. It fills you up enough to last until lunch and gives you a little boost of energy. Simply slice an apply, cut the middle out and fill with peanut butter.

Easy Breakfast 4 – Avocado on toast

Avocado on Toast

This is so easy and also quite fashionable to eat! I  just smash the avocado into the toast. Sprinkle with a touch of salt/ chilli flakes and voila!

Easy Breakfast 5 – Smoothie

Any smoothie will do but at the moment I am really enjoying Blueberries, Strawberries, Avocado and Kale with a little bit of water. I know it looks absolutely disgusting but trust me it really isn’t. It is one of those things you can do the night before and just shake up in the morning and go.

What would you suggest?

Moving Home: Home Decor

Hey Everyone,

I have finally settled in to my new home so it is time for me to start decorating it the way I want. I thought I would take you on my journey, as this is my first flat unfurnished and it is all very new to me.

Pinterest seems to be the one thing that has helped me so far. If you are in the same boat and haven’t used pinterest for inspiration get over there now! It is the best for beautifully designed homes sometimes on a budget swell (even better!)

My office is my next room so here are my inspiration from a few pinterest accounts.

Dry Shampoo Mistakes Every Girl Makes

Hey Everyone,

I’m the first one to say how much I love dry shampoo. Sometimes you just don’t have time to wash your hair or it doesn’t really need a wash but it looks like it needs a refresh. Having said that, we all make mistakes so here are the common dry shampoo mistakes you may make.

When spraying dry shampoo the recommended distance is about 30cm away from the hair. This will also ensure it is distributed more evenly over the head.

Get the right spot

It’s all about the roots when it comes to dry shampoo. There is no point putting it in the rest of your hair as it doesn’t really help with anything. Focus on the roots and then brush it through to make sure it looks less powdery.

Allow it to work it’s magic

Dry shampoo helps to absorb oils so after applying it to your hair let it work it’s magic before applying any other products or styling. It won’t take long, I usually brush my teeth or something and then sort it all out.

Not every day

Although I am a huge lover of Dry Shampoo using it everyday can cause damage to your hair. Avoid using it all the time and give your hair a little time to breathe after washing it. I’m all about voluminous hair but sometimes it needs a little rest.

What’s your favourite dry shampoo?

Begu Teas *

Hey Everyone,

I received Begu Teas for review and as a massive tea lover I was pretty pleased to say the least. I didn’t realise it was a ‘weight-loss’ tea before I got it and started reading in to it a little more. I’m off on holiday in October and have been wanting to shed a few pounds so this is a great way to see if it works. I thought I would do an initial post to introduce it and then let me know how I get on once I have used up all the tea.

Begu Teas Overview

There are a few different teas in the range so you can mix and match to suit your needs. They have a section on their site which gives you with nutritional and fitness advice to help you along the way. Begu Health believe the key to leading a healthy lifestyle is recognition that everyone is different and there are no quick fixes.
